Ramp
As motorcylces are so important they are not left outside, so many houses and shops had a ramp to take them inside.

New hotels are springing up all over Siem Reap to cater for the growing tourist trade to Angkor Wat

For the afternoon, having spent one and a half days looking at temples, we took a trip out on Lake Tonle Sap, that we had flew over on the way into Siem Reap.

Rain
The weather for the trip was very inauspicious.

A village was built on the lake, with a causeway running into the lake until it could go no further. This motorcycle is near the end of the causeaway.

Trees
Trees, with their roots in water grew on submerged islands

Floating Church Everything in the lake village floated, from the church to the shop. Floating shop

Crocodiles
Stopped at a resturant where they also farmed crocodiles. These were caught as babies and then fattened up.

The top of the resturant provided a view over the lake.

Everyone in the village had to be able to row. Children played around in tubs!
